Humane Society, Tennessee Valley

Every companion animal that enters our doors comes to us with a story of abandonment. We give them hope, love and a healthy start on their journey to a new home.

The Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley operates a bit differently than what you might think. We are committed to joining companion animals and people who love them, and keeping them together for the long run. We see ourselves as a part of the wider community and our services reflect that.

One of the ways we’re different is the support we provide for our 55 partner shelters. We transfer in animals from throughout the state and beyond. We also partner with vets and businesses within the community to help support adopters in the continued care of their animals

Our PetHelp Program strives to keep pets and people together by offering services including a Pet Food Pantry. We provide resources for our community and the animals they love.

We hold adoption and outreach events throughout the community to raise awareness. We also have programs like Paws to Visit, allowing our animals to visit senior care centers, and a reading program for kids to get involved with the animals.

We envision a future in which all animals are treated humanely, with compassion and respect.
