Freddy Gray, MPH, MCHES, and ORAU health preparedness and training group manager, has been promoted to director of health communication and preparedness for the company.
 
In his new role, Gray will oversee ORAU teams that provide expertise in health communication, marketing, preparedness, technical training and research skills to develop solutions that inform the public and equip health professionals to respond to the most pressing public health challenges.

“We are excited for Freddy to take on this new role because of his extensive knowledge and experience in both health communication and health preparedness,” said Donna Cragle, senior vice president and program director for health, energy, and environment.
    

Gray has served as manager of ORAU’s health preparedness and training group for the past 10 years, where he managed multiple projects including managing increased patient load during a health emergency, distributing and dispensing medical countermeasures, and conducting tabletop and operations-based exercises. His prior experience includes weapons of mass destruction training and preparedness, occupational health training for the Air Force, and epidemiology projects.
 
Gray holds a master’s degree in public health with a concentration in occupational health and industrial hygiene from the University of Tennessee.
